Siraj played his inaugural first-class match on November 15, 2015, under the guidance of Karthik Udupa, representing Hyderabad in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy. He marked his Twenty20 debut on January 2, 2016, during the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, he emerged as Hyderabad’s top wicket-taker, securing 41 wickets at an average of 18.92.
He led in taking wickets in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2018, securing 23 dismissals in seven matches. In October 2018, he was selected for India A’s team in the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy, and in October 2019, he was chosen for India B’s team in the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy.
International career
He was selected for India’s Twenty20 International squad to play against New Zealand in October 2017. Making his T20I debut on 4 November 2017 against New Zealand, he took the wicket of Kane Williamson and ended with 1 wicket for 53 runs from four overs.
He was selected for India’s T20I squad for the 2018 Nidahas Trophy in February 2018. Later in September 2018, he was included in India’s Test squad for the West Indies series but did not participate. Subsequently, in December 2018, he was chosen for India’s ODI squad for the series against Australia. His ODI debut took place against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on 15 January 2019.
