Will Jacks captained the team in all six games of the U19 World Cup. His first-class debut for Surrey was in the 2018 County Championship, and he played his inaugural Twenty20 match for Surrey in the T20 Blast in July 2018. In July 2021, Will Jacks was selected for England’s One Day International (ODI) squad for the series against Pakistan, as the original squad had to withdraw due to COVID-19 positive cases.
The Oval Invincibles acquired him for the 2022 season of The Hundred in April 2022. By August 2022, he achieved the highest score in The Hundred’s history with 108 runs off 48 balls. He was selected for England’s Test and T20I squad against Pakistan in September 2022, debuting in T20I on September 23, 2022, and in Test cricket on December 1, 2022, during the same series. His ODI debut took place on March 1, 2023, against Bangladesh.

Will Jacks, a good all-rounder, found his love for cricket early and started with Surrey. Moving up from under-9s to England Under-19s, he excelled in spin bowling and powerful hitting. In 2017, he impressed with a century against India, earning a spot in the 2018 U-19 World Cup squad for England. Despite scoring 102 against Canada, Jacks’ performance was inconsistent in the tournament.
In his List-A debut in the 2018 Royal London ODI Cup for Surrey, Jacks stood out by scoring 121 against Gloucestershire in his third List-A game. He quickly debuted in T20 and first-class matches for Surrey as well. His first season in first-class cricket was memorable as Surrey won the County Championship Division One title. Jacks made headlines in a T10 match against Lancashire in 2019 by hitting a century in just 25 balls.
Jacks joined the Oval Invincibles for The Hundred’s first season in 2021. In 2022, he played T20 cricket and became the top run scorer for the club. In the same year, he debuted for England in T20Is against Pakistan and impressed with six wickets in his Test debut. Later in 2023, he made his ODI debut but got injured during the Bangladesh series, missing playing for Bengaluru in the Indian T20 League.
Despite the injury, Jacks made a strong comeback with centuries in the 2024 SA20 League and Bangladesh Premier League. He is now ready to shine in the 17th Indian T20 League representing Bengaluru after missing out in 2023.
