Liz grew up in Bebington, England, where she lived until she moved to Nottingham University in 1990 to study law. After earning an LLB in Law, she volunteered at a law centre and became a passionate advocate for civil rights for disabled individuals both in the UK and internationally. It wasn’t until 2000 that she ventured into the performing arts, co-founding the comedy group Nasty Girls. Liz pursued studies in performing arts at the Graeae Theatre Company and London Metropolitan University. She performed the lead role of Mother Courage in the final touring production of Bertolt Brecht’s play. Following this, she participated in the first-ever disabled women’s reading of The Vagina Monologues, appeared at London’s Young Vic theatre in Brecht’s The Exception and the Rule, and toured with Graeae’s production of Molière’s George Dandin the following year.
