Northern Districts
Williamson started playing for Northern Districts in 2007 when he was 17 years old and has stayed with them throughout his domestic career in New Zealand. He achieved his first T20 century on 19th September 2014, scoring 101* off 49 balls to lead Northern Districts to a victory over Cape Cobras in the Champions League Twenty20 2014.
English county cricket
Williamson joined Gloucestershire for the 2011 English county season. In August 2013, he moved to Yorkshire for the remainder of the season, and later signed on for the 2014 season, during which his team secured the County Championship title.
