Early life and family

28 January 1986, in Sheffield, the birthdate Vinnie Ennis and Alison Powell have two kids, Ennis-Hill being one of them. Carmel is her younger sister. Her mother is an English social worker from Derbyshire, and her father is a self-employed painter and decorator from Jamaica. Her mother preferred the high jump, but her father occasionally ran track at school. Professional athletics career

In February 2004, at the age of eighteen, Ennis achieved one of her first victories as a senior. In a time of 8.60 seconds, she won the 60-meter hurdles at the Northern Senior Indoor Championships.
