Her mother Pauline recalls that when she woke up, everyone in the room applauded, and the doctor described her as a fighter. Raised in Gennevilliers, her father Victor Agbegnenou is a Togolese scientist, and she has three brothers. Clarisse obtained French nationality on October 17, 2000, through her father’s naturalization. She joined the AMA club (Arts Martiaux d’Asnières) at nine years old and later entered the Orléans National Training Center at fourteen. Outside of martial arts, she holds the rank of Warrant Officer in the French National Gendarmerie. On February 7, 2022, she announced her pregnancy with her first child.
