Early Career
Robson began his career in a talent troupe called Johnny Young’s Talent School, where the group performed up to 14 shows a week, often in shopping malls. At the age of nine, Robson moved to the United States with his mother and sister, with the help of Michael Jackson, who also recruited him to appear in the music videos for “Black or White,” “Jam,” and “Heal the World.”
By the time he was 11, Robson had secured an agent. He and his friend DeWayne Turrentine formed a hip-hop duo called Quo, and by the end of the year, they released an album under Jackson’s MJJ Music label via Epic/SME Records. The following year, Robson was teaching dance classes in Hollywood and created a troupe of young dancers that performed internationally.
