On October 23, 1979, in Madras, Tamil Nadu, Prabhas was born into a Telugu household to film producers Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju and Siva Kumari. He is the youngest of three children; his older siblings are Prabodh, his older brother, and Pragathi, his older sister. He is actor Krishnam Raju’s nephew in Telugu films.
