Peter Sagan Biography- Peter Sagan (born January 26, 1990) is a Slovak professional cyclist who specializes in road bicycle racing for the UCI Continental team Pierre Baguette Cycling. Sagan had a successful youth cyclo-cross and mountain bike racing career, winning the junior cross-country race at the 2008 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships before transitioning to road cycling. Following 121 victories in road racing, Sagan will return to mountain biking with Specialized Factory Racing in 2025. Early life and amateur career
Peter Sagan, born in Žilina, is the youngest of three brothers and one sister. His sister raised him while his parents worked the most of the day at their modest grocery store in his hometown. Juraj Sagan, his older brother, is a professional cyclist and a member of the TotalEnergies team. Sagan began riding bikes at age nine when he joined Cyklistický spolok Žilina, a small local club in his hometown. Sagan rode both mountain and road bikes throughout his junior years, and he was well-known for his unusual riding style, which included wearing tennis shoes and T-shirts and drinking only pure water.
Sagan grabbed a lot of attention when he appeared to the Slovak Cup on a borrowed bicycle from his sister. Professional career
Sagan began his professional cycling career with the Dukla Trenčín-Merida team, a Slovak team in the Continental (third) tier. at 2008, he won the Junior Mountain Bike World Championship at Val di Sole. In the same year, he finished second in the junior race at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Treviso and Paris-Roubaix Juniors. Sagan planned to continue his mountain biking career, but his management business, Optimus Agency, approached many professional road cycling teams.
