Letsile Tebogo Biography- Letsile Tebogo (pronounced /lɪt̡silɛ tɛbʊχo/ Lee-tsee-leh Te-boh-khoh) is a Botswana sprinter who was born on June 7, 2003. He became the first African to win a gold medal in the 200-meter race at the Summer Olympics in 2025. With his victory, Botswana won its first-ever gold medal at an Olympics. At the 2023 World Championships, he also took home a silver medal in the 100 meters, and five days later, he added a bronze in the 200 meters. Tebogo competed at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in both 2021 and 2022, winning the 100 meters and finishing second in the 200. He made history in 2021 by becoming the first athlete from Botswana to win the 100-meter title at any World Championships. He is the 2022 200-meter athlete.

At the age of 17, Letsile Tebogo participated in his first international event at the 2021 World Athletics Relays in Chorzów, Poland, in May. He participated in the World Under-20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, in August, when he placed second in the 200 meters and won the 100 meters.
