Early life
Gordon and Holly Jones welcomed Michael McCorkle Jones into the world on September 5, 1998, in Jacksonville, Florida. His father was a tennis player at Flagler College and Florida State University. Jones received a scholarship offer from the University of Alabama to play for the Crimson Tide after first committing to the University of Kentucky. Despite being an early enrollee, he was given a redshirt during his first season in 2017. Jones was given a driving under the influence (DUI) charge and was not allowed to play against LSU the next game. He was voted A-Day MVP after throwing for two touchdowns and 289 yards in the Crimson Tide’s spring game.
