From 2006 to 2009, she worked as a production assistant for Goal! The Bundesliga Magazine and simultaneously served as a sports news presenter at Deutsche Welle, covering both English- and German-language sports programming. In 2009, Abdo moved to CNN, where she anchored World Sports daily and hosted various feature shows.
