On 21 July 2023, Harshit Rana was playing for India A against Bangladesh A during the semifinal of the Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 when he had a verbal fight with Bangladeshi cricketer Soumya Sarkar. He talked about his fight with Soumya Sarkar in an interview and said that when he was celebrating Sarkar’s wicket and crossed him on the field after his dismissal, Sarkar thought that Rana said something about him, hence he also said some abusive words towards Rana after which they got into a fight. Umpires later intervened and calmed both of them.
