Quinton de Kock, born on 17 December 1992, is a South African cricketer who previously captained Proteas in all formats. Currently, he plays for South Africa in limited overs cricket, Titans domestically, and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. In 2017, he was honored as the Cricketer of the Year at Cricket South Africa’s Annual Awards. Known as one of the finest wicketkeeper-batsmen of his era, de Kock started his career with the Highveld Lions in the 2012/2013 season. His talent was recognized during a significant partnership with Neil McKenzie in the Champions League T20 against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Despite only participating in six out of ten matches that season, he ranked fourth in first-class cricket. De Kock’s international journey began during South Africa’s home Twenty20 International series against New Zealand in the 2012/13 season when he replaced AB de Villiers as the wicketkeeper.
