He began his first-class career with Kabul Region in the 2018 Ahmad Shah Abdali 4-day Tournament. Naveen debuted in One Day International (ODI) cricket against Bangladesh on 25 September 2016 after being part of Afghanistan’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He captained Afghanistan in the 2016 Under-19 Asia Cup. His Twenty20 (T20) debut for Afghanistan was against Namibia on 19 January 2017. Naveen was later appointed as the captain of Afghanistan’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
