Devdutt Padikkal, born on 7 July 2000, is an Indian cricketer who represents Karnataka in domestic cricket and the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His India debut was in the 2021 away T20I against Sri Lanka, and he has also played for the India under-19 team. Padikkal, born in Edappal, Kerala to Ambili Padikkal and Babu Kunnath, moved to Bangalore in 2011. He started training at the Karnataka Institute of Cricket and has been representing Karnataka since 2014 in various age categories. In 2017, Bellary Tuskers selected him in the Karnataka Premier League. Padikkal earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University of Business Management, Bangalore.

Devdutt Padikkal, a stylish left-handed top-order batsman from Karnataka, was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2020 auction. He impressed with 473 runs in his debut IPL season and was recognized as the best emerging player. In the following IPL season, he continued his good form for RCB, including a remarkable century – scoring 101* off 52 balls against Rajasthan Royals. Despite his successes, RCB released him, and Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured him in the IPL 2022 auction. However, batting in the middle order instead of his preferred opening position, he struggled to replicate his previous achievements, managing 376 runs in 17 innings. His performance dipped further in the 2023 season with RR, where he scored 261 runs in 11 innings before being traded to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the IPL 2024 season.
