Parents and educators at the time lacked the necessary skills to identify and manage what is today recognized as a classic case of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ADHD was clearly not the widely medicated childhood condition that it is now. My triumph against the ailments was discovered atop two thin tires after many sandy miles.” LeMond stated, “That’s one of the characteristics. It’s the inability to sit down, listen to, and absorb something you’re not very interested in.
