Fisher finished 28th in a time of 16:14 at the 2011 state cross country meet, having qualified. His 1600-meter run time of 4:30.23 in the spring of 2012 allowed him to qualify for the state meet. He was required to play in the state finals of his soccer team, thus in November of his sophomore year, he was unable to participate in the Michigan state cross country meet. 2013 saw him set personal records in the spring.
