Early life
Page was born on February 21, 1987, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Martha Philpotts, a teacher, and Dennis Page, a graphic artist. He was born female and went by his given name, Ellen, before transitioning in 2020. Page attended Halifax Grammar School until grade 10, and then went to Queen Elizabeth High School for a while. After graduating from the Shambhala School in 2005, Page studied in Toronto’s Interact Program at Vaughan Road Academy with close friend and fellow Canadian actor Mark Rendall for two years.

Career
Page made her acting debut at the age of 10 in 1997, as Maggie Maclean in the CBC Television film Pit Pony, which later spawned a television series of the same name that aired from 1999 to 2000. He received Gemini and Young Artist Award nominations for his role in the television series. Page’s first feature-film role came in 2002, when he played Joanie in Marion Bridge. In the same year, he was cast in the television series Trailer Park Boys as Treena Lahey, a recurring character he portrayed for five episodes.
In 2003, Page appeared in the films Touch & Go and Love That Boy, as well as the television movies Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story and Ghost Cat. For Ghost Cat, he received the Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. Page starred in the drama Wilby Wonderful in 2004, which earned him an Atlantic Film Festival prize and a Genie prize nomination. In 2004, he also had a recurring role in season 1 of the series ReGenesis as Lilith Sandström, the protagonist’s daughter.
