Club career
Dele joined the Milton Keynes Dons’ development system at the age of 11 after playing for City Colts. He made his first-team debut as a sixteen-year-old on November 2, 2012, coming on as a 64th-minute substitute for Jay O’Shea in a 0-0 draw with Southern Football League club Cambridge City in the FA Cup first round at Milton Road. His first professional football touch was a back heel pass. His first goal came in the replay against Cambridge eleven days later, in a 6-1 victory at Stadium MK on his debut. He made his league debut in a 2-3 defeat to Coventry City at home on December 29, when he played 71 minutes before being substituted. His lone other league appearance in the 2012-13 Football League One season was as a second-half substitute for Patrick Bamford in the season’s final match, a 2-0 victory against Stevenage at Broadhall Way.
International career
Alli has represented England at the U17 and U18 levels on multiple occasions. Alli was called up to the England U19 squad on August 27, 2014, following an impressive start to the campaign. He earned his England U19 debut in a 1–1 draw against Germany U19. In the game, Alli assisted the opening goal by passing a through ball to Bradley Fewster, who gave England the lead at 1-0. According to reports from February 2015, John Fashanu would try to persuade Alli to play for Nigeria.
