Club career

Akershus’s Baerum is where Berge was born. He began his football career as a young player at Asker Fotball. At the conclusion of the 2013 season, he made his senior debut for the squad, which was then competing in the Norwegian 2. divisjon. Before the 2015 season, he signed with elite team Vålerenga, where he scored the first goal in an 8–0 victory over Lokomotiv Oslo in the Norwegian Cup’s opening round at the age of 17.  After making his league debut for Vålerenga on July 11, 2015, as a replacement against Sandefjord, Berge made his first league start on August 16, 2015, against Rosenborg.

In the 2016 season, he established himself as a consistent starter and won the title of young player of the year in the Norwegian league. He and K.R.C. Genk inked a four-year contract on January 2, 2017. On January 21, he entered the game as a substitute in the away 1-0 victory over Eupen to make his first-team league debut. On February 17, in a 1-0 victory at home against Royal Excel Mouscron, he received his first start and played the entire game.

International career

On May 2, 2013, Berge’s under-15 squad played against Canada U15, marking his debut for Norway. Since then, he has played for Norway at every level, all the way up to the senior national squad. On March 23, 2017, at the age of 19, he made his debut for his senior national team after substituting in the 76th minute of the Euro qualifying match against Northern Ireland. In the 34th minute of a match against Malta on September 5, 2019, Berge scored his first goal for his senior national team during the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying rounds.
