David Andrew Warner, born on 27 October 1986, is an Australian cricketer who plays T20I internationally and has previously served as Test vice-captain. Warner, a left-handed opening batsman, made history as the first Australian cricketer in over a century to be chosen for the national team without prior experience in first-class cricket. He represents New South Wales and Sydney Thunder in domestic cricket. Warner played a key role in Australia’s victories in the 2015 Cricket World Cup, the 2021 T20 World Cup (where he was named Player of the Tournament), the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship, and the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. In January 2017, he became the fourth player to win the Allan Border Medal multiple times and consecutively. On 28 September 2017, Warner marked his 100th One Day International (ODI) appearance.

Warner was suspended and charged with bringing the game into disrepute in March 2018 following an investigation into ball tampering by the Australian team during their Test series against South Africa. Cricket Australia banned Warner from all cricket in Australia for one year and from any leadership roles permanently after a board meeting. In January 2025, Warner played his last Test match for Australia and revealed his retirement from ODI cricket.
