Early career
Cipriani began his education at Wimbledon’s Donhead Preparatory School. He was identified as a rugby potential at Donhead and awarded a full scholarship before being recommended to go to the Junior House of The Oratory School near Reading in order to continue his development. Following Common Entrance, he enrolled at Whitgift School in Croydon. Cipriani, a talented all-around athlete, played junior football for Queens Park Rangers and was granted youth terms by Reading. He also represented Berkshire and Oxfordshire at schoolboy cricket level. He was invited to play as a batsman for Surrey County Cricket Club. also competed in county squash matches. Club career
Cipriani joined the Wasps Academy in 2003 and made his Powergen Cup debut against Bristol in December 2004 at the age of 17. Cipriani joined the Wasps Academy full-time during the 2006-07 season. He began playing for the Wasps under-21 and A teams before making more frequent appearances for the first team in 2007. He began as Wasps won the 2007 Heineken Cup Final. After Alex King departed Wasps in the summer of 2007, the club’s fly-half position became open, and after playing in a variety of positions for Wasps in the early games of the 2007-08 season, Cipriani played two games at fly-half, against Gloucester and Munster, which Wasps won.He is faster over 69 meters than Paul Sackey and this story.
On October 6, 2008, Cipriani got into a fight with club and international teammate Josh Lewsey on the training site. International career
Cipriani led the England under-16 team. He played fly-half for England’s under-19 team in the Under-19 World Cup, but was unable to complete the competition owing to a head injury. Cipriani was a member of the Saxons’ Churchill Cup-winning team at Twickenham in 2007. Despite spending the summer at England’s training camp, he almost missed out on selection for the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He was selected for England’s Six Nations Championship squad in 2008. Many experts advocated for Cipriani to be selected at full-back to ease him into the international arena, a position he excelled at with Wasps after breaking into the first squad.
His England debut was set to take place on March 8, 2008, against Scotland, when he was selected at full-back. However, two days before Cipriani was set to make his full England debut, he was dropped from the squad for “inappropriate behaviour”.
