Early life
Cook, who was born in Opa-locka, Florida, went to Miami Central High School alongside Devonta Freeman, a former running back for the Seminoles. DeAndre Burnett is his brother, a former basketball player. Cook entered the football program as a sophomore, believing he would not have the opportunity to replace Devonta Freeman, a senior running back who had just helped Central win a Class 6A state championship the previous year.
