On August 29, 1991, Chakravarthy Ambig was born in Bidar, Karnataka. He attended St. Patrick’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, where he played cricket, and Kendriya Vidyalaya CLRI in Chennai, where he completed his education. He graduated from SRM University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He quit his work as an architect at the age of 25 to become a professional cricket player.

Career

On September 20, 2018, he made his List A debut for Tamil Nadu in the Vijay Hazare Trophy season 2018–19. With 22 dismissals in nine matches, he was Tamil Nadu’s top wicket-taker in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.On November 12, 2018, he made his Tamil Nadu first-class debut in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. At the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL), he was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab in December 2018 for a sum of 8.4 crores. On March 27, 2019, he made his Twenty20 debut for the group. With 25 runs in his opening over, he let up the most runs of any bowler making his IPL debut. The Kings XI Punjab released him ahead of schedule.
