Anrich Arno Nortje, born on 16 November 1993, is a cricketer from South Africa. His international debut for the South Africa cricket team was in March 2019. In July 2020, Nortje received the award for newcomer of the year at Cricket South Africa’s annual awards ceremony. He was part of Eastern Province’s squad for the 2016 Africa T20 Cup. Nortje was also selected for Cape Town Blitz’s squad in the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament in October 2018. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from the tournament due to an ankle injury. In December 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. However, he had to miss the tournament in March 2019 due to a shoulder injury.

Anrich Nortje was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the IPL 2019 auction for his base price of INR 20 lakh but missed the season due to a shoulder injury. Subsequently, Nortje was released by KKR before IPL 2020 and initially remained unsold at the auction. However, he was later enlisted by Delhi Capitals (DC) as a replacement for Chris Woakes. Nortje showcased remarkable performance in IPL 2021 by consistently bowling at speeds exceeding 155kph and securing 22 wickets, ranking fourth that season. Although Nortje did not participate in the first half of IPL 2021 held in India, he excelled in the latter half in the UAE, claiming 12 wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of 6.16. Consequently, DC retained Nortje for IPL 2022 mega auction despite an injury limiting him to six games where he took nine wickets. However, in IPL 2023, Nortje struggled to perform well, only managing to secure ten wickets in ten games and conceding runs at a rate of 9.10.
