Harpreet Singh Brar, born on 16th September 1995, is an Indian cricketer who currently represents the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Punjab in Domestic Cricket. He hails from a Sikh family in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where his father had a background in the military and law enforcement. After a brief period in Hariewala village, Moga, he relocated to Zirakpur, Punjab at the age of five. Brar commenced his cricket journey by playing for the Ropar district team in 2011, eventually progressing to the under-16 Punjab team. He looks up to Yuvraj Singh as his role model.

Harpreet Brar was all set to move to Canada and start a new life, but fate had a different plan. Despite being a promising player in age group tournaments and attending four trials for the Punjab franchise, his breakthrough came in 2019. Originally from Moga, Punjab, Brar’s interest in cricket was sparked by Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes off Stuart Broad. Lacking financial support, he received help from former cricketer Gurkeerat Singh Maan, who provided him with a bat and cricket gear. In 2019, Brar was selected by Punjab Kings in the IPL, but his opportunities were limited. Although he played three games in his first two IPL seasons without success, he shone in a match against RCB in 2020, showcasing his talent.
