Trisha Goddard Biography – Patricia Gloria Goddard (born December 23, 1957) is a British TV presenter. She is best known for her television talk program Trisha (1998-2010), which aired in the mid-morning on ITV before moving to Channel 5, and for hosting the Australian children’s show Play School from 1987 to 1998. Goddard has been based in the United States since 2010, when she began working on Maury as a conflict resolution specialist. She also hosted a U.S. version of her own talk show, The Trisha Goddard Show, from 2012 to 2014. Since 2022, Goddard has been presenting You Are What You Eat.

Early life
Patricia Gloria Goddard was born in London on December 23, 1957, as the daughter of Agnes Fortune, a Dominican Windrush nurse, and an unknown father. She didn’t realize that the white guy who raised her was not her original father until after her mother died, despite the fact that he was the biological father of her three sisters. Goddard, in her late fifties, set out to find out more about her biological father after a genetics specialist told her that her skin color made it nearly impossible for her to have a white father. She received her early education at an independent school for expatriates in Tanzania before returning to England to attend elementary school in Heacham, Norfolk. She then attended Sir William Perkins’ School in Chertsey.

Career
Goddard’s early job as a flight attendant evolved into travel writing for publications then, after living in Australia in the mid-1980s, a new career in television. She worked there as a television presenter, most notably on ABC’s The 7.30 Report, as well as a host of the children’s show Play School. Goddard returned to the United Kingdom in 1998 and became the host of ITV’s main daytime chat program, the BAFTA-winning Trisha, produced by Anglia TV. She founded Town House TV, an independent television production firm, alongside Malcolm Allsop, former Director of Programmes and Production at ITV Anglia.
Goddard left ITV in September 2004 to join Five in a new programme called Trisha Goddard, which premiered on January 24, 2005. It was similar in style to her previous show, with a focus on relationships, families in difficulty, and reunion. The show was created by Town House Productions. During the early phases of the show, it was discovered that replays of her ITV show received higher ratings than her new programme on Five.

Personal life
Goddard has three younger sisters: Pru, Paula, and Linda. Linda, her youngest sister, suffered from schizophrenia and died in 1988 as a result of complications caused by self-injury. Goddard credits this as one of her inspirations for becoming a mental health campaigner. She has also struggled with mental health concerns, including addiction and at least two suicide attempts. Goddard has had four marriages and three divorces. Her first marriage was to Robert Nestdale, an Australian politician and former director of Unicef Australia, whom she met in 1985 while working as a flight attendant. The marriage was short-lived; Nestdale was rumored to be gay and died of AIDS in 1989. Goddard has stated that Nestdale was abusive to her during their relationship.
