She was lured to basketball in the arena of sports, and thanks to her dad Mike, who is an avid basketball fan, she learned to enjoy the game. She made the switch to volleyball and began competing for Creighton indoors. In her senior year, she received an Honorable Mention for All-America. She arrived at Louisiana State University with the intention of switching to beach volleyball, even though she was an excellent indoor basketball player. Taryn’s volleyball journey began in earnest at Creighton University, where she excelled as an outside hitter. After earning her degree in Business Administration, she continued her education at Louisiana State University, pursuing an MBA with a focus on Sports Marketing and Non-Profit Organizations.
