Shashank Singh began his cricket journey playing club and village cricket in the northeast of England for Boldon CACC, where he quickly made an impression with his talent and potential. He made his List A debut on 10 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In February 2017, he was picked up by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) for ₹10 lakhs in the IPL auction.
