Club career
Kafaji was raised in Akalla and commenced her football career at Kallhälls FF at the age of eight. Subsequently, she played for Bele Barkarby FF before transferring to AIK in 2015. Kafaji’s first appearance for the A-team in the Elitettan was in 2019, where she achieved four goals and three assists in seven games. During the 2020 season, she scored 12 goals in 18 matches, contributing to AIK’s promotion to the Damallsvenskan. On August 13, 2024, Kafaji signed a long-term contract with Arsenal, a Women’s Super League team.
International career
Kafaji was chosen to represent the Swedish women’s national team for the first time in February 2021. In 2024, she was selected to participate in the National Team for two Nations League playoff matches against Bosnia-Hercegovina on February 23 and 28. She played in both games and netted her debut goal for the Swedish senior women’s team in the second match.

We are delighted to announce the signing of Swedish international forward Rosa Kafaji on a permanent transfer. Rosa has signed a long-term contract with us after moving from BK Häcken in Sweden, where she wore the number 16 jersey. She was born in Stockholm on July 5, 2003, and started her career at AIK Football in her hometown. Having progressed through the club’s academy, she made her senior debut at the age of 15 in 2019. Rosa, now 21, played 46 games for AIK Football and scored 19 goals. In January 2022, Rosa transferred from AIK Football to BK Häcken, where she played 61 games and scored 28 goals. She emerged as the top scorer for Häcken in the 2023/24 season, netting 15 goals, including four during an exciting UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign. Notably, Häcken defeated Real Madrid twice on their way to the quarter-final stage.
Rosa progressed through various age groups at the international level before making her senior debut as a substitute against Italy in the UEFA Women’s Nations League in October 2023. With nine appearances and one goal already under her belt for her country, Rosa expressed her excitement about joining Arsenal and her eagerness to continue growing and competing for major titles.
