About Jhye Richardson Biography

Richardson was acquired by the Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2023 auction. Following surgery in March 2023 to address hamstring issues, he is set to sit out the entire 2023 IPL season. Richardson’s T20I debut for Australia was in February 2017 against Sri Lanka, and he made his ODI debut against England in January 2018. Despite being named in Australia’s Test squad for the series against South Africa in March 2018, he did not get to play. Cricket Australia awarded him a national contract for the 2018–19 season in April 2018.

Richardson was selected for the ODI series against India in January 2019. He achieved his career-best figures by dismissing Indian captain Virat Kohli in the first game, contributing to Australia’s 1,000th international win. Subsequently, he joined Australia’s Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka, debuting on 24 January 2019 with three wickets in the first innings. Richardson was honored with the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year award in 2018.
