Early and personal life
On September 14, 1990, Suryakumar Yadav arrived in Bombay, which is now Mumbai. His parents were from Uttar Pradesh, namely Ghazipur. After completing his education at Bombay’s Atomic Energy Central School, Suryakumar earned a B.Com. from Pillai College. In Varanasi, he started playing cricket under the guidance of his paternal uncle Vinod Kumar Yadav. He signed up for a baseball programme at the age of ten at the Ashok Kamat-coached BARC colony in Mumbai. After that, he played age-group cricket in Mumbai at the Elf Vengsarkar Academy, which is headed by former national cricket Dilip Vengsarkar. Suryakumar wed Devisha Shetty on July 7, 2016, after initially meeting her in 2010 at a college programme. Devisha is a dancer with training.
Early Career
In Mumbai, Suryakumar participated in club baseball, mainly for the Parsi Gymkhana Cricket Club. He also played for the Dadar Union Club, Shivaji Park Gymkhana Club, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited squad. In February 2010, Suryakumar made his Mumbai debut in a List A match against Gujarat. The next month, he made his T20 debut against Hyderabad, and in December 2010, he featured in his first class debut versus Delhi.
International Career
Suryakumar was selected for the Indian Twenty20 Internacional (T20I) team for their home series against Britain in February 2021. In the second match of the series at Gujarat on March 14, 2021, he made his T20I debut for India, albeit he did not bat. He became the very first Indian player to knock a six in a Twenty20 National match on March 18, the day he completed his first innings in the series’ fourth game. Later in the game, he reached a half-century, and Virat Kohli, the Indian captain at the time, gave him praise for his effort. He was then included in India’s ODI team for their series with England. He was listed in India’s restricted-overs lineup in June 2021.
