Controversies Rude to a Reporter: In January 2016, Jennifer faced criticism for scolding a reporter at a Golden Globes press conference for using his phone to read a question. She told the reporter that he should live in the moment instead of behind his phone. Many viewed her remarks as culturally insensitive, especially since English was not the reporter’s first language.
Misstatement that Stirred a Debate: In 2022, Jennifer received backlash for mistakenly claiming she was the first woman to lead an action film during a discussion with Viola Davis, an actor and film producer. Netizens pointed out other female leads like Sigourney Weaver and Angelina Jolie who had previously starred in lead roles in action films. Jennifer later addressed her claim and admitted her mistake.
