Early Life
Brooklyn Beckham was born at the Portland Hospital in London to David Beckham and Victoria Adams (later known as Victoria Beckham). While it is often reported that he was named Brooklyn because his mother discovered she was pregnant while in Brooklyn, New York City, Victoria later clarified in her 2001 autobiography, Learning to Fly, that they simply liked the name. She mentioned that it wasn’t until after choosing the name that they realized how fitting it was, given that it was in New York where she found out about the pregnancy and where David came after the World Cup.
Brooklyn’s childhood was spent in Madrid and Los Angeles, locations where his father played for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy. He has three younger siblings: brothers Romeo James, Cruz David, and sister Harper Seven. In December 2004, Brooklyn and Romeo were both baptized in a private chapel at their parents’ mansion in Hertfordshire. His godparents include Elton John, David Furnish, and Elizabeth Hurley.
