Domestic career
Sandeep Warrier debuted in first-class cricket for Kerala against Goa on 24 November 2012. He was part of the group of five players suspended for three matches during the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy due to dissent against Kerala’s captain, Sachin Baby. Warrier was the top wicket-taker for Kerala in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, claiming twelve wickets in six games. Similarly, he led Kerala’s wicket-taking charts in the group stage of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, securing 44 dismissals in ten matches. Warrier achieved a hat-trick in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy season. In August 2019, he was selected for the India Red team’s squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy. Furthermore, he was included in India A’s team for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019. Finally, Warrier transferred from Kerala to Tamil Nadu in 2021.
International career
He was selected as one of the five net bowlers for India’s Test squad against England in January 2021. Additionally, he was chosen as one of the five net bowlers for India’s tour of Sri Lanka in June 2021. Due to a COVID-19 case in the team, Warrier was included in India’s main squad for the last two T20I matches of the tour. His T20I debut for India against Sri Lanka took place on 29 July 2021.

Sandeep was born in Thrissur to Sankarankutty and Lakshmi. He has a sister named Sandhya. Sandeep grew up and attended school in Mumbai before relocating to Kerala. He dropped out of engineering studies. In 2019, Sandeep married his longtime girlfriend Aarathy Kasturi Raj, who is an international skater. Aarathy achieved a bronze medal in the women’s 3000m relay event at the 2022 Asian Games. Sandeep and his KKR teammate Varun Chakravarthy tested positive for COVID-19 on 3 May 2021, resulting in the postponement of the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore scheduled for that day.
