Scott was born in Hounslow, London, to an English father and an Indian mother. Her mother, Usha Scott (née Joshi), emigrated from Uganda to the UK at a young age and is of Gujarati descent. Scott has an older brother named Joshua. At the age of eight, she and her family relocated to Woodford, London, where her parents served as pastors at the Bridge Church. Growing up, she was influenced by gospel and R&B music, particularly artists like Kim Burrell, Mary Mary, and Kirk Franklin, and often sang in church. Scott attended Davenant Foundation School in Loughton, Essex, but left midway through her A-Levels to pursue her role in Terra Nova.
