Fletcher was born on July 17, 1985, in Harrow, London. He attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School, where he met Giovanna Falcone at the age of 13; the two later married in 2012. He has a younger sister, Carrie Hope Fletcher, who is a musical theatre actress. At just 10 years old, Fletcher landed the lead role in Oliver! at the London Palladium, performing alongside Jim Dale as Fagin. He also participated in a documentary about HIV for schools and appeared in a commercial. In 1995, he made a brief appearance in the music video for Mike + The Mechanics’ single “Over My Shoulder.” While in school, he was classmates with Matt Willis, the bassist for Busted.
