In October 2018, Markande was selected for India B’s squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. He then made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on November 1, 2018. Throughout the tournament, he emerged as Punjab’s top wicket-taker, claiming 29 dismissals in six matches.
