Mayank Markande, born on November 11, 1997, is an Indian cricketer hailing from Patiala. He attended Yadavindra Public School where he played for the school’s cricket team. Markande made his international debut for the Indian cricket team in February 2019. His Twenty20 debut for Punjab was in the 2017–18 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on January 14, 2018. Markande was acquired by Mumbai Indians during the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018.

Mayank Markande debuted for Punjab in List A cricket during the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 7, 2018, in Bengaluru, where he made an impressive start by securing seven wickets in his first two matches, three of which were taken on his debut. In October 2018, Markande was selected for India B’s squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy. He then made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on November 1, 2018. Throughout the tournament, he emerged as Punjab’s top wicket-taker, claiming 29 dismissals in six matches.
