Khaleel Khursheed Ahmed, born on December 5, 1997, is an Indian cricketer who debuted for the national team in September 2018. He represents Rajasthan in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. He was also a member of the Indian squad that clinched the 2018 Asia Cup. Khaleel’s father, Khursheed Ahmed, worked as a nurse in a village close to Tonk. Despite his parents’ desire for him to pursue a career in medicine, they were hesitant to allow him to enroll in a cricket academy.

Khaleel Khursheed Ahmed hails from Tonk, Rajasthan, where he honed his fast bowling skills with a tennis ball. His dedication led him to a spot on the India under-19 squad for the 2016 World Cup. Despite securing only 3 wickets in 6 matches, his talent caught the eye of Rahul Dravid, the coach of the under-19 team and Delhi Daredevils. Khaleel was acquired by Delhi Daredevils for INR 10 lakhs and had the opportunity to train with Zaheer Khan. Although he didn’t play in the IPL, the experience helped him enhance his bowling techniques. Following a successful 2017-18 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad signed Khaleel for INR 3 crores in the eleventh edition of the IPL.
