Club career
In the Copa Sudamericana, Izquierdo, who was born in Montevideo, made his professional debut with Cerro on February 20, 2018, starting in a goalless draw away to Sport Rosario of Peru. Five days later, in a 4-0 loss to Nacional away, he made his Uruguayan Primera División debut in the 41st minute, replacing Jonathan Barboza. In his debut season, he participated in 28 games and scored one goal on August 25 against Progresso at home, winning 5-2. 2019 saw Izquierdo go to Peñarol in February. After just five games in the runner-up season, eleven months later, he joined with the Montevideo Wanderers. He scored the only goals for the “Bohemians” in a 3-2 victory over Liverpool on the road at the same city on November 30.
In February 2021, Izquierdo made his first overseas move, signing with Atlético San Luis of the Liga MX in Mexico. He returned to Wanderers in August after making just four appearances and confronting supporters in the stands in April. Due to a stress fracture in his tibia, he played just 13 minutes as a replacement against Rentistas on February 13, 2022, during a league-winning season, before moving to Nacional. Izquierdo relocated to Liverpool in the same league for 2023. He made his debut on January 29 in the 2023 Supercopa Uruguaya, coming on as a 66th-minute replacement in a 1-0 victory over his former team.
