Early life and education
On May 27, 1979, in Bracknell, Berkshire, Jeffrey Carl Smith gave birth to Brazier. At the time of Brazier’s birth, his mother Janette Smith was sixteen years old. When she was unable to handle the situation, she temporarily placed him in a foster care. In 1985, she wed his stepfather Robert Brazier, taking on his last name. Brazier’s younger brother Spencer, who has cerebral palsy, was born into their union. Brazier and his brother resided in a women’s refuge in Great Yarmouth after their breakup. The skipper of the pleasure boat Marchioness in 1989, which sank on the River Thames after being struck by a dredger and killing 50 people, was Stephen Faldo, Brazier’s biological father, who at first denied fatherhood. Brazier participated in the third season of the Channel 4 reality television program Shipwrecked in 2001, where he and fifteen other participants were forced to live in subsistence on a tropical island with no creature amenities. After that, Brazier co-presented the TV shows Big Brother Panto and Dirty Laundry with June Sarpong, and he participated in the ITV show Simply the Best. Brazier starred opposite Charles Ingram in Celebrity Wife Swap in 2003 alongside his fiancée at the time, Jade Goody. Brazier participated in the Living TV competition I’m Famous and Frightened! in July 2004 and won the Channel 5 reality TV series The Farm in September of the same year.
