Artist was born on October 17, 1992, to Darrell and Judith Artist. He is of African-American and Polish descent. Raised in New York, Jacob developed a passion for dancing and was accepted into Juilliard, but chose to decline the offer in order to pursue a career in acting. In 2012, he was cast as Jake Puckerman on Glee, where he showcased his singing and dancing talents. After Glee ended, Artist took on the role of Brandon Fletcher in ABC’s Quantico. He has also made a guest appearance on American Horror Story.
