Early Years
Burton began his racing journey at the incredibly young age of two when he received a go-kart. By the age of four, he had transitioned to racing quarter midgets. He began competing seriously at age 12 and achieved his first late model win in early 2014. The following year, he earned his first super late model victory at New Smyrna Speedway. During this time, he also won three USAC quarter midget championships. At 11, he captured his first late model pole at Ace Speedway and went on to win two pro late model races at age 12.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Burton made his debut in the CARS Super Late Model Tour in 2015, competing in six of the series’ ten races. Although he only finished two of those events, he managed a third-place result at Southern National Motorsports Park and a fourth-place finish at Concord Speedway. Midway through the season, his team made strategic changes, including switching car bodies and bringing on former Xfinity Series driver Chris Wimmer as crew chief.
