Early life
On November 7, 1993, Haris Rauf was born in Rawalpindi, Punjab, into a working-class family from Sharkool village in the Hazara region of Mansehra. Rauf was raised in Rawalpindi, however he is a member of the Pashtun Swati tribe, who are from Mansehra. His dad worked for the Public Works Department as a welder. Despite growing up close to Islamabad’s Diamond Cricket Club, he never became an official member of the organisation.
Haris was a student at the I-8/3 Islamabad Model College for Boys. He was more of a football fan in college than a cricket fan; he was named the best player of the tournament and helped his school win the football trophy. He later enrolled in an IT programme at the International Islamic University in Islamabad to pursue his education. He worked in a mobile shop and played tape-ball cricket to augment his income before committing himself fully to the game. He joined teams that provided remuneration. In an authentic nikkah ceremony held in Islamabad on December 23, 2022, Rauf tied the knot with his classmate Muzna Masood Malik.

Early Career
At age 23, Rauf began using a hard ball for play. He joined the International Islamic University cricket team in Islamabad, and at first he was hesitant to go to the Lahore Qalandars trials, which were scheduled to take place in Gujranwala in September 2017, as requested by the team’s coach.But he did agree, and Aaqib Javed noticed. Lahore Qalandars soon offered him a contract since they saw his potential and wanted to develop his abilities. Rauf made his debut in his home country in 2018 when he was chosen for the Lahore Qalandars squad for the Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy.Rauf was included in the Pakistan Cup team for Baluchistan in March 2019. On April 2, 2019, he made his List A debut for Baluchistan at the 2019 Pakistan Cup. He was added to Northern’s team in September 2019 in preparation for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy competition. On September 28, 2019, he made his Northern debut in the 2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Prior to the 2019–20 National T20 Cup competition, he was listed as one of the six players to watch by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in October 2019.
International Career
Rauf was included in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their series against Bangladesh in January 2020. On January 24, 2020, he made his Pakistani T20I debut against Bangladesh.
Ahead of the 2020–21 season, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) granted him a central contract in May 2020 under the newly established Emerging Players’ category. He was included in a roster of 29 players for Pakistan’s COVID-19 pandemic tour to England in June 2020. Rauf was one of three Pakistani team members who test positive for COVID-19 on June 22, 2020, though.
