Akash Deep is an Indian cricketer who plays for Bengal in domestic cricket and is part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm fast bowler and a right-handed batsman, born on 15 December 1996 in Sasaram, Bihar. His Twenty20 debut for Bengal was on 9 March 2019 during the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Furthermore, he debuted in List A cricket on 24 September 2019 for Bengal during the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy and in first-class cricket on 25 December 2019 during the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy season. He was selected to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the second phase of the 2021 Indian Premier League in the UAE on 30 August 2021. Akash Deep Biography Personal and Early Life
Deep had a strong passion for cricket since he was young, despite his father’s wishes for him to prioritize academics over cricket. He remained dedicated to cricket, playing for his school and actively participating in cricket-related activities. Due to the suspension of the Bihar Cricket Association during his youth, opportunities in Bihar were limited. At the suggestion of a friend, he joined a cricket club in Durgapur, where he played tennis-ball matches in the district for Rs 600 per day, which helped cover his daily expenses.
Following this, in 2010 he became a member of the United Club in the CAB first-division league to advance his cricket career. Initially enrolled as a batsman, he later transitioned to fast bowling upon his coach’s suggestion. Unfortunately, his dedication to cricket faced a setback when his father and older brother passed away in 2015 within a span of six months. With the responsibility of being the sole provider for his family after their deaths, Akash Deep did not abandon his cricket aspirations. Despite the tragic loss of his father and brother, he went on to join the CAB second-division league and contribute to India’s Vision 2020 initiative.

Akash Deep began playing cricket at a young age and traveled to Kolkata to chase his cricketing aspirations.

He got his first break on 9 March 2019, when he made his Twenty20 debut in domestic cricket for Bengal by playing against the Andhra Domestic team.
He made his ListA debut in the same year in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with the Bengal team. He has played 11 first-class cricket matches till now and he has taken 45 wickets.
He has played Ranji and in 2021, he got selected for the Royal Challengers Squad in 2021 and made his debut in the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament held in UAE.
International Cricket
Deep was selected in the Indian Squad for the 2022 Asian Games and replaced the injured Shivam Mavi.
