TNPL’s Sai Kishore, a tall left-arm orthodox spinner, gained attention in the tournament’s initial seasons. Initially known for a controversial on-field incident, he later excelled in bowling, becoming one of the top wicket-takers in subsequent seasons. His performance led to selection for the Tamil Nadu team, contributing significantly to their victory in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He participated in trials for different IPL teams but didn’t succeed. In the latter part of 2017 and also during the 2018 TNPL season, Sai Kishore experienced a decline in performance. Domestic Career
He debuted in List A cricket for Tamil Nadu during the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 12 March 2017. His first-class debut for Tamil Nadu was during the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 14 October 2017. Additionally, he made his Twenty20 debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2017–18 Zonal T20 League on 8 January 2018. He emerged as the top wicket-taker for Tamil Nadu in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, securing 22 dismissals in six matches.
Indian Premier League
He was purchased by the Chennai Super Kings for ₹20 lakh in the 2020 IPL auction and by the Gujarat Titans for ₹3 crore in the 2022 IPL auction.
International Career
He was selected as one of the five net bowlers for India’s Sri Lanka tour in June 2021. Due to a COVID-19 case in the Indian team, Kishore was included in India’s main squad for the last two Twenty20 International matches of the tour. In January 2022, he was chosen as one of the two standby players in India’s T20I squad for their series against the West Indies. He is part of the Indian squad for the upcoming 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
