Geeta Kapoor started her professional career at the age of 15 when she joined the troupe of well-known Bollywood dancer Farah Khan. Later on, she assisted Farah Khan in a number of films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and the musical Bombay Dreams Mohabbatein Kal Ho Na Ho Main Hoon Na. Using a blend of classical and modern dance skills, she start off as a secondary background dancer in a number of song sequences. These included the songs Gori Gori from Main Hoon Na and Dum Tara by Suchitra Krishnamoorthi from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In the late 1990s. She started acting in movies like Nayak. She was also in Kuch Kuch Locha Hai.
In 2008, Geeta Kapoor made her TV debut on the Zee TV reality series Dance India Dance (season 1). Which included choreographers Remo D’Souza and Terrence Lewis as co-judges. Mithun Chakraborty was the grandmaster. She served as a trainer for the Geeta Ki Gang.
