Ekadashi In June: Signfiicance

Bathing in the three holy rivers or offering ritual foods to ancestors during the Kartik month yields similar advantages to fasting on Apara Ekadashi. Observing this fast can result in overall success, eradication of poverty, and the arrival of wealth, prosperity, and fame. Apara Ekadashi is also referred to as Achala Ekadashi. Nirjala Ekadashi is esteemed as the most exceptional among all Ekadashis. Fasting on Nirjala Ekadashi provides the benefits equivalent to fasting on all 24 Ekadashis in a year and leads to salvation. However, this fast is the most challenging as it requires abstaining from both food and water.

Ekadashi In June 2024: Rituals

Before observing the Ekadashi fast, one should perform sankalp. Cleaning the temple premises is essential during the Brahm Muhurat. Devotees should take a bath before commencing the puja rituals, followed by the installation of Lord Vishnu’s idol, lighting a diya with desi ghee, offering flowers or garlands, applying tilak, and presenting sweets and fruits. Throughout the day, devotees must chant Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye and recite the Krishna Maha Mantra 108 times. It is important not to break the Tulsi Patra on Ekadashi day.

Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take bath before starting puja rituals.

2. Clean the house and especially puja room.

3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna and Laddo Gopal if you have along with Shree Yantra.

4. Give bath to the idols and place again at the same place.

5. Light a diya with desi ghee in front of the idols.

6. Take a sankalp of observing fast with purity and piousness.

7. Offer Tulsi Patra, fruits, and panchamrit to the idols.

8. Chant Krishna Maha Mantra 108 times.

9. In the evening again one must offer prayers to the Lord, recite the story of particular Ekadashi and chant aarti of Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna.

10. Never break Tulsi Patra on the day of Ekadashi.

11. People can have fruits, and milk products but during Nirjala Ekadashi they are advised not to take anything.

12. In case you are unable to observe Nirjala Vrat due to any health condition then you can observe a normal fast.

13 The fast will be broken on the next day i.e., on Dwadashi Tithi during Parana Time.
