Early Career
Bogdanović began his basketball journey with ŠKK Zvezdara, a club based in Belgrade. In April 2008, he moved to Žitko Basket (formerly Alimenti Basket), also in Belgrade. While playing under coach Dragan Jakovljević at Žitko, he helped the team secure third place in the 2009–10 Junior Serbian League during the final eight tournament in Vršac. They defeated Partizan’s junior team in the quarterfinals but lost to Hemofarm’s juniors in the semifinals, eventually winning the third-place match against FMP’s junior team, 82–76.
In May 2010, Bogdanović, alongside teammate Luka Pajković, joined FMP’s junior team for the Nike International Junior Tournament (NIJT) in Paris. The FMP juniors were defending the club’s double title from the previous two years and were placed in a round-robin group alongside KK Split, Treviso, and Málaga.
Personal Life
Bogdanović is related to the late renowned Serbian architect Bogdan Bogdanović, sharing the same name. Outside of basketball, he is an avid fan of the World of Warcraft video game series. On April 10, 2016, Fenerbahçe fans honored him by naming a star after him.
Professional Career
In September 2010, 18-year-old Bogdanović signed his first professional contract with Partizan. During his first two seasons with the club, under head coach Vlada Jovanović, he had limited playing time. However, with the return of head coach Duško Vujošević in the summer of 2012, the 20-year-old Bogdanović saw his minutes increase. His role within the team was further solidified after the departure of Danilo Anđušić in December 2012. During the 2012–13 season, he made his EuroLeague debut, averaging 5 points and 1.8 rebounds per game over 6 appearances. After being invited to play for the Serbian national team in the summer of 2013, Bogdanović earned the trust of coach Vujošević, which led to more playing time and an expanded role in the 2013–14 season.
